Jim W. Hussey, 66, of Fremont died Monday, Jan. 25, 2010, at Fremont Area Medical Center.
He was born June 6, 1943, in Columbus, Ga., to Wallace J. and Marjorie M. (Crews) Hussey. He grew up in Columbus and graduated from Jurden High School. He attended one year of college and then started working as a carpet layer, which he continued for 48 years. He lived in Phenix City, Ala., for 13 years prior to moving to Fremont in 2002.
He married Donna Lusher on April 14, 1981, in Louisiana. He had been married twice prior to his marriage to Donna.
Survivors include: four sons, Jimmy Hussey and Corey Hussey (and fiancee, Nicole Andersen), all of Fremont, Steven (and wife, Elizabeth) of Spring, Texas, and Christopher (and wife, Candice) Whitten of Gastonia, N.C.; three daughters, Breezy (and husband, Jason) Hinkle of Fremont, Kandance (and husband, Jeremy) Day of Maryland and Jennifer (and husband, Paul) Jenkins of Gastonia; four brothers, Franklin (and wife, Barbara) Hibbs of New Bern, N.C., Lloyd (and wife, Sharon) Hussey of Ringgold, Ga., Larry Whitten of Indianapolis, Ind., and Sheldon Whitten of Chattanooga, Tenn.; a sister, Patricia (and husband, Mark) Freeman of Chattanooga; and 10 grandchildren.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont with the Rev. Leland Foreman officiating. Visitation with the family present will be from 11 a.m. to service time Thursday at the funeral home.
